From
its early days as a folk cafe (featuring musicians such as Stan Rogers,
James Gordon and Jane Siberry), to the curry house days and late
nineties renovation/expansion from 9 tables to 18, the Carden Street
Cafe has gracefully evolved into one of Guelph's most unique dining
experiences. The Carden has become a favourite of many for its
colourful tropical murals (courtesy of Cambridge artist Brenda
Veerman),
relaxed classy atmosphere and mouth watering cuisine.
For
a first date or a family dinner, the cafe offers a memorable blend of
warmth and elegance. Our West African curries are at the heart of a
menu that includes a wide range of spicy and mild choices, as well as
great vegetarian options. While much of our food "awakens the taste
buds" with unique flavours, we aim to satisfy the
less adventurous palate as well.
All of our food is caringly made to order, using fresh
ingredients. Our eight irresistable
desserts are all made in-house.
We
serve organic fair trade coffee that's roasted locally by Planet
Bean as well as a wide selection of teas, juices
and soft drinks.
On tap, we pour pints Wellington SPA (one of Guelph`s finest) to
accompany our selection
of 15 different bottled beers. We have
four
house wines, as well as 10 red and 10 white wines by the bottle,
including two organic
options that aren`t available at the LCBO.
We take pride in our attention to quality
and customer satisfaction and will make efforts to accomodate larger
groups and special dietary
needs as best we can.

During
the summer months our licensed patio is yours to enjoy.
